ShredEye ended up in Quimixto, Jalisco, Mexico the day after a huge surf comp (boo, work), to find a few lingering spectators and a bunch of rad locals hanging about. The swells were still pretty big , and it was a little crowded, but we still managedto snap a few rippers. Gotta run, but check back soon!
While the weather gets colder here in Ontario, and all of the shredders start thinking of snow, ShredEye has decided to skip the in between rainy dampness (brrr), and instead, catch some waves on the warm beaches of the Pacific Coast of Mexico! Check back soon for some surf shots from the beautiful west. In the meantime, check out a few random shots from this summer.
ShredEye popped up to Basecamp ( Muskokas premiere Wakeboarding centre) this Saturday to check out the all girls Billabong Sisterhood Sessions. Riders of all levels came to progress, meet new people, chill out, have fun, and enjoy the beautiful nature of the region – the calm, hot summer weather was just the icing on the cake. Basecamp is a peaceful, gorgeous place to be. Special thanks to Scott Duke, camp co owner, Billabong, Dane and Drew for the all the great tips, and all of the riders in our crew.
Even though it was an all girls event, ShredEye did catch Basecamp male staff and coaches Dane, Drew and Austin shred for a bit.
The temperature was around 34 degrees without the humidex today, but that didnt stop the Brampton shredders from killin it at the park. The sun was shining, the sweat was flying, and the young guns were laying it down.
First, check out some pics of this amazing park, followed by some of the shredders.
Today we decided to go for a drive, and after hearing from several shreds that Keswick has a pretty good park, and since we had never been there, we thought we would head to the country and see if we could snap some nice shots. We arrived at Georgina Skatepark late in the day, and the forecast was calling for rain and hail ( !?) Luckily, although the wind was picking up and the clouds were getting way dark, the rain had not yet arrived, and there were a few shredders around, enjoying what was still a pretty warm afternoon. Here are few pics…
It started to lightning and rain ridiculously hard not long after this. Hope the shredders got home dry!
Last Monday, on a trip to Stouffville (just north of Markham, On), we thought we would see if there was a park in the area. After asking several locals, and finally getting an answer, we found out there was indeed a park in town. Located in the heart of the village, right next to a huge city style park, Over The Edge Skate Park exists. We found the park completely empty around 5 pm…so no shred pics, but we did take a few of the park itself, so you can see the concrete features before making the trek up north.
Last Thursday at Richmond Green while shooting the Last Night Was HOT… spread, we caught pro shred Morgan Smith absolutely tearing the park up. He was killin it - landing everything with style and grace – and was kind enough to let us snap a couple of pics before he left the park.
Want more Morgan? With sponsors like DC,Nomis, and Blind, you need not look far. You can catch him in the 2009 The Blind Video (among others), and tons of magazine shots. Happy hunting!
